In 2018, we launched the Enrichment Giving Tree, a seasonal fundraising campaign in support of the Toronto Zoo’s Animal Husbandry Program. The Enrichment Giving Tree allows Zoo supporters the opportunity to purchase an enrichment item for their favourite animal at the Toronto Zoo. 

The Enrichment Giving Tree started out in the Toronto Zoo’s Zootique gift shop, raising over $3,700.00, in it’s first year. Zoo guests could purchase an enrichment item and receive a gift-able holiday ornament in exchange for their donation. Since then, the Enrichment Giving Tree has raised over $43,520.00 in support of the Toronto Zoo’s Animal Husbandry Program, and can still be found in the Zootique gift shop as well as on our website during the holiday season.

Animal Enrichment is very important at the Toronto Zoo and something each animal receives daily. Items like foraging balls, jolly apples and perfume enhance the animals’ environments by providing them with opportunities that stimulate their natural behaviours.
